July 20-24, 2021
We had no idea at the time, but this would be our last trip camping in Florence the Fleetwood Flair. When we got home from this trip, we found our new and current home, Dora the Dutch Star. Luckily, the last Florence trip was one of our best trips.
We started at the Glenwood Springs KOA. It's not particularly glamorous, there on the side of I-70 in a big valley, but we still had a great time. Our site was nice, though small, and after a couple days we were joined by Allie, Margot's daughter. We even found time to head over the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. It was a pretty awesome time.
Though we had a nice time at the KOA, it wasn't our final destination. We headed up the hill to stay for a long weekend at Rifle Gap State Park. Joe stayed with us there in his trailer, and Michael was up the hill even more at Rifle Falls State Park. As soon as we were set up we set out to check out the water. There was some waterskiing and playing in the water, but mostly just laying around the sun. The water was amazing. Even Lacey got in.
We took a long video of this in 360-degree format. Move your mouse around or tilt your cell phone to look around and enjoy the day.
It was a perfect, amazing, and wonderful day with friends!
The next day we were back in the boat with Joe and Christal. Christal had never waterskied before, so she tried that for the first time and succeeded. Margot showed everyone how it was done, of course. This is another, long 360-degree video.
We had some more time after we got back from boating, so we drove up to see Michael at Rifle Falls. We couldn't find him, though we parked at his trailer. We walked up to check out the sights. It's such a cool place, and hard to believe it's in Colorado. It's definitely one of the best places in the state.
It was such an awesome weekend with friends, and one we'd like to do again soon. It's one of our favorite places.
