Grapevine, Texas

Grapevine, Texas

February 12th-19th, 2022

Our anniversary was coming up, so we wanted to splurge. Of course, that meant a fancy dinner. And it also meant a fancy campground. We don't exactly "rough it" when we choose campgrounds (we most often have full hookups with electricity, water, and sewer), but we wanted to find someplace special. The Vineyards Campground & Cabins in Grapevine, Texas, looked perfect.

It was a really nice campground, and our site was right on Grapevine Lake. We were able to put the boat in the water and then pull it around to the shore right next to our site. Margot would jump in and then pick up Monica and Lacey at a little dock right next to our site. And the lake was fantastic.

We were able to spend some lovely days on the lake, and we really liked the town of Grapevine. A lot of fantastic Texas wines come from that area.

Our anniversary is on February 12th, and our first date wasn't supposed to be a date but it just turned out that way by the end of dinner. Our first anniversary dinner at Ferrari's Italian Villa was perfect, too. We had great food in a romantic setting. It was all just so perfect.

It was only a year since our first date, but it still felt so brand new to both of us. We were still giggling all the time and falling more in love, and who could ask for more? We were really looking forward to more years together, enjoying our full-time RVing adventures across the country.

You may be wondering about our plans for the future. We should see all of the continental United States by the end of 2027, with big trips planned every year. We're so lucky to be able to do this together, and we couldn't be any happier. Life is good!
