We Have a New Home!

We Have a New Home!

August 24th, 2021

This post is long overdue, but we've been crazy-busy lately. In mid-August, we had a Saturday to kill so we went to Transwest to go look at the Newmars. We've done it before, so we didn't have any real intention of buying anything just yet. But then we saw her, the perfect coach, and we put down a deposit to hold it so we could think about it. And then we went for it! Here are the photos from the listing, taken by Transwest.

We officially moved in on Margot's birthday, August 24th. At that point, she was parked in Transwest's little "campground" so we could move in. Florence the Fleetwood Flair (Monica's motorhome) was parked next to her for a few days, and that coach was emptied out to sell. Then we kept bringing things from Margot's house and Monica's house, and our first trip with her was to St. Vrain State Park at the Longmont exit of I-25 on September 1st. After a couple days there to work out the kinks, we headed to Lathrop State Park in Walsenburg to camp in style.

Since we got back from Walsenburg we've been running around like crazy. We haven't spent more than three nights in one place, because it's tough to get a camping site with such short notice. We've been staying at Robin's ranch in Brighton a lot, which has been awesome (no electricity or hookups, though). In the evenings, we've been going to our houses to empty them out and sell them.

Margot sold her house on Brentwood! It closes on October 15th, so she's almost done with it. She already sold her motorhome.

Monica's not quite there, yet. She's still working full time, so there haven't been nearly as many hours to spend on moving out of other places. Her motorhome is for sale, though. Check out the listing on RV Trader, and tell your friends!

Monica is almost out of her house, and it should be listed in the next week or two. It's cutting things close. She also needs to sell her car so we only have one.

Our plan is to get out of Colorado before the snow is here to stay, and we have a reservation in Raton, New Mexico as our first stop. That's right on the other side of Raton Pass where the weather is a bit nicer for longer. It's not too far to drive back if we have to, but we're hoping we won't have to.

So What's the Plan?

Our only solid plan is to go south for the winter, and be back in Colorado in March or April (it depends on the snow). If Monica is going to the office after the pandemic calms down a bit more, we'll be in Amarillo. If we aren't going back yet, who knows where we'll be. It's all a bit up in the air.

What About Your Trip to Idaho?

Yep, we have a lot of videos and fun things to post here, including more that we did at Lathrop State Park. But we're pretty consumed with moving and getting things in order. As soon as that happens (November?) we'll start posting about our summer. Thanks for understanding! It's going to be a fun ride.
