Lima, Peru

February 27-28, 2022

Margot's friends had an extra ticket for the trip of a lifetime -- a vacation in Peru to see Machu Picchu, the Amazon River, and other sights in Peru. She took them up on an invitation and was able to go with them. Monica stayed in Texas with Lacey.

We were so excited to get to Peru!

The flight was long, but worth it as soon as we stepped off of the plane. After getting some sleep, we ventured out to the beach near the hotel. It was gorgeous, with big waves and lots of locals. We just relaxed that first day, enjoying the city.

The next day, we went on a tour of Lima. We went to the Larco Museum, the Cathedral and Casa Aliaga, and the main square in the city. The architecture was so impressive. There was a gorgeous courtyard in the colonial mansion, and a cool, circular piece that had the signs of the zodiac on it. The museum had lots of pottery of erotic art and some very cool plants, all in another restored mansion.

It was a relaxing start to our vacation, especially nice because of how busy the rest of it would be. We were off to Cusco next, and that's in Part 2!
