It was Heather's birthday, and we were in Fruita. We had kayaks and standup paddleboards (SUPs) inflating in the parking lot for a bit, and then we dropped into the water at the Redlands Parkway Boat Ramp. We were going to get out of the water at the boat ramp where were were staying, at the James M. Robb Colorado River State Park. It was hot and sunny, which was perfect.
The two of us had the double-kayak, so we had our hands free to take pictures. Joe and Tawnya were in a raft, Mike was on a kayak, and the rest were on SUPs. The water was usually flowing nicely, and we had some small rapids every once in a while.
We caught the whole trip on the GoPro Max 360-degree camera, and that means there is a video that lasts about 2.5 hours (below, and on our YouTube channel). It's 4K, and know that it will take a while to download it if you are streaming it (you may get some buffering and patchy spots). It's in real time, so you can watch it a bit faster if you want or you can just enjoy the lazy float. Move your phone around or drag the video around with your mouse to look around.
Some of us got in the water (Margot did, Monica didn't), and we didn't have Lacey with us this time (it was a long trip). Toward the end, we had a flotilla as Joe and Mike both held on to the sides of our kayak and we propelled everyone along. It was such a wonderful, relaxing day.
Happy birthday, Heather! We hope all of your birthdays are as fun as this one was.
