February 20th to March 13th, 2022
We were seeing the suburbs of Dallas/Fort Worth. First, we spent an amazing two weeks in Hickory Creek. Next, a fun week in Grapevine. We finished our tour in Sunnyvale.
The campground wasn't great, AT&T service was practically non-existent, but we made it work. One of the best parts was getting our new Juiced Bikes HyperScorpion e-bikes. They were almost like mopeds, though technicall still e-bikes. Margot's is blue, of course, and Monica's is silver. We were able to ride them for about 30 minutes before it was too cold to do it anymore. There would be more time later when things warmed up.
Lacey liked her pen, and we had great neighbors while we were there.
It was definitely the worse of the three places in the Dallas area, and we probably wouldn't stay there again. Unfortunately, Monica would be there for three weeks while Margot went to Peru (that post should be ready soon). The airport was farther away, but Monica was close to the reason we were in Sunnyvale -- her friend, Nyree.
"The Girls" had been five women in north Denver for a few years -- Monica, Nyree, Robin, Karen, and Miriam. Monica and Nyree even shared the same birthday, May 7th. Nyree had moved to Dallas, so we weren't all as close as we used to be. Monica and Nyree were able to get together a couple times, going out to check out Dallas, going to dinners, and playing games in the motor home and out of the wind and cold. It was awesome to have a friend to see in Texas.
