Eastern Colorado Dry Camping

Eastern Colorado Dry Camping

May 29th, 2021

We spent a fantastic, long weekend in eastern Colorado and North Platte, Nebraska. We dry camped for the first part of the trip, with no electricity or water hookups. We thought the place would be crowded, but we had it to ourselves. The weather was rainy and it got really windy one of the nights, but we had a great time.

There was a park across the road where we played on the playground equipment and found a bit of cell service. Other than going over there a couple times and into town when needed, we stayed at camp.

We'll definitely go back to that area again in the spring, even though Lacey collected quite a few ticks in Colorado and Nebraska (probably around 40 of them). The dogs got to run around free most of the time, and it was nice to see her that happy.

We were so far east that we decided to camp in North Platte, too. The I-80 Lakeside Campground was right on the highway, but it was really nice. Though we definitely found more ticks.
